37- year old man drowns in Okwe River in the E/R

A 37-year-old man, Ernest Tawaiah Adeichereh, from Okwenya in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, was tragically discovered deceased after he had gone missing during a heavy rainstorm last Friday.

His brother, Mr. Peter Tawaiah Adechiere, expressed concerns about Ernest’s disappearance. Ernest had embarked on a fishing expedition in the Okwe River on Saturday morning, September 23, but never returned.

In a display of community solidarity, local residents rallied together to assist the family in organizing a search operation along the riverside in hopes of locating Ernest. Mr. Paul Senyemeh, the Okwenya Electoral Area Unit Committee Chairman, mentioned that the youth actively participated in the search efforts, which continued through Monday. Regrettably, their endeavors yielded no results.

However, on Tuesday, the search team finally discovered Ernest’s body, which had decomposed significantly. He was laid to rest around 2000 hours on the same day.

Ernest, who suffered from epilepsy, leaves behind two children and a pregnant wife, as per his brother’s account. The Akuse police were informed of the discovery, but attempts to obtain a comment from them have been unsuccessful.
